Marriyum Aurangzeb calls upon int’l community to take notice of India’s blatant violations of int’l law against Yasin Malik


ISLAMABAD, May 21 (SABAH): Pakistan has expressed deep concern over Indian biased and one sided trial against Hurriyat Leader Muhammad Yasin Malik on the charge of terrorism allegations.

This was stated by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, while taking to media along with spouse of Yasin Malik, Mushaal Hussein Mullick and her daughter Razia Sultana Yasin Malik in Islamabad on Saturday.

She said allegations of terrorism against Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik are baseless and he was indicted by an Indian court on Thursday.

According to Indian media and social media reports, he would be given sentence to death or life imprisonment on Wednesday.

She said that denying Muhammad Yasin Malik the right to a transparent and free trial, India is openly violating international law and human rights Protocols. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Mushaal Mullick last time met with her husband in September 2014, adding that her daughter’s age was at that time two years and today she is 10 years old.

The Minister called upon the international community to take notice of India’s blatant violations of international law against Yasin Malik. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Pakistan stands with the Kashmiris for their freedom movement. She said that if India has not fear then why it is scared from speaking of one person and why it is scared from providing basic free trial and why it is scared from provision of the basic human rights which are present in every country’s constitution.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that allegations of terrorism are being leveled against Yasin Malik without any proof and his media trial is being carried out. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that when Syed Ali Shah Geelani was martyred, India was afraid of his dead body and it did permit offering of funeral prayer of Syed Ali Geelani.

Marriyum Aurangzeb also paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir including Maqbool Butt, Syed Ali Geelani, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Afzal Guru and others. She said that India has illegal occupation on Jammu and Kashmir while using force. She said that there is complete media black out in occupied Kashmir. She said that the Indian fascism could not affect the vigor of Kashmiris for the freedom.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Pakistanis have supported the Kashmiris while becoming one voice for the freedom of the Kashmiris, adding that Kashmir is part of Pakistan and jugular vein of Pakistan and we are not ready to budge one inch from this stance. She said that the amendment made by Indian PM Narendra Modi on 5th August 2019 while annexing Jammu and Kashmir with India is not acceptable for Pakistan. She said that the Kashmir dispute will be resolved through plausible under the United Nations resolutions and Kashmiris will make decision. 

Speaking on the occasion, Hurriyat Leader Mushaal Hussein Mullick said that her husband Muhammad Yasin Malik is not being provided counselor access, right of fair and transparent trial for his defense in Tihar Jail. She said Yasin Malik has been kept in the death cell of Tihar Jail. She said Yasin Malik is forced to sleep in front of an open toilet in death cell. Mushaal Mullick requested the world community and United Nations to hold independent investigations into the matter of Yasin Malik. She demanded from the United Nations and also said that Pakistani government should also start campaign for declaring Yasin Malik as prisoner of conscience from world and should immediately be got released on health grounds. 

She demanded International Community and the United Nations for an independent investigation and put the case in International Court of Justice. She also demanded that Yasin Malik may also be declared as protected personality. Mushaal Mullick said that fake case has been lodged against Yasin Malik as occupied Kashmir is disputed territory and our case comes under the umbrella of international jurisdiction. Mushaal Mullick said that the matter of me, my daughter and my husband should be taken to the International Court of Justice.
