There are conspiracies being hatched to internally destabilize Pakistan: Sheikh Rashid


 ISLAMABAD, Nov 15 (SABAH): Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said Pakistan is not facing any threat from borders but there are conspiracies being hatched to internally destabilize Pakistan but we will not allow these conspiracies to succeed. He said that November and December have always remained the hot and cold months with regard to politics. Sheikh Rashid said that he is hopeful that the matters will be resolved with TLP in a good manner. 

Talking to the media persons after addressing a ceremony in Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad on Monday, Sheikh Rashid said Pakistan is faced many challenges and the situation in the neighborhood warrants the opposition parties demonstrate patience and pursue a prudent course.

The Interior Minister said he backs Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance of introducing Electronic Voting Machines to end rigging in the elections. 

Sheikh Rashid expressed the hope that the allied parties of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would support the government on the issue of electoral reforms.

Sheikh Rashid said the Islamabad police would tackle the situation effectively when Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will march towards Islamabad. 

We would handle the situation politely if the PDM’s workers do not take the law into their own hands and do not create the law and order situation in the federal capital, he added. 

Underscoring the need for recruiting educated youths in the police force, he said that the crime rate was increasing in the country due to the worsening economic situation. He said the country was facing internal threats.

Earlier addressing an event, the Interior Minister said two thousand new recruitments will be made on merit in Islamabad Police. He said Islamabad police will be made a model force.
