Riaz Pirzada condemns the forcibly holding a political rally in Church ground in Sialkot

ISLAMABAD, May 14 (SABAH): Federal Minister for Human Rights Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada condemns the forcibly holding a political rally in Church ground in Sialkot.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada said that the move of a political party to occupy Church ground (CTI Ground); a place where Christian community performs their religious rites, for public meeting without their consent is reprehensible.

He stated that actions of leadership of a political party and its workers that invited the protest by Christian community in Sialkot is highly shameful. Minorities are free regarding their worship places under state laws and government has the responsibility to safeguard their religious rights. No group or party will be allowed to hurt the sentiments of minorities.

He added that spreading anarchy by usurping the rights of minorities and injuring their feelings are not acceptable. Our government will take every step to safeguard theirs rights and interests at any cost.
