India committing human rights violations in IIOJK: Engineer Amir Muqam

ISLAMABAD, Dec 28 (SABAH): Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam says India is committing human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

On special directions of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam attended as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the two-day event titled “Kashmir: Jannat Nazeer” organized by the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training, as well as the book launch of late Kashmiri leader and author Professor Nazir Ahmad Shal.

Addressing the ceremony, Engineer Amir Muqam said 96 thousand Kashmiris have been martyred since 1989 due to continued Indian atrocities in the occupied valley. He said thousands of Kashmiris including top Hurriyat leadership have been illegally imprisoned in Indian jails.

The Minister urged the United Nations to play role for the implementation of its resolutions regarding plebiscite in IIOJ&K.
