Alkhidmat Foundation sends 90 tons of aid to the families affected by the depressing conditions in Sudan
KARACHI, Dec 18 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan sent 90 tons of relief goods to the homeless women and children affected by the flood and the poor conditions of Sudan.
In this regard, Sudanese Ambassador Saleh Muhammad Ahmed Muhammad Sadiq, Chairman Disaster Management and Central Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Ejazullah Khan, Central Vice President Alkhidmat Air Marshal (Retd) Arshad Malik, Director General (DG) Crisis Management Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shehzad Hussain, NDMA, government representatives and other prominent personalities participated in the ceremony and aid items were sent to Sudan by ship from Karachi port on humanitarian basis.
Ejazullah Khan said that since 19 months, more than 10 million people have become homeless due to the bad conditions and floods in Sudan, adding due to the famine, the situation of the citizens has worsened as 2.5 million people are on the verge of death due to hunger.
Air Marshal (Retd) Arshad Malik said that Alkhidmat Foundation is sending relief goods to the displaced families including women and children due to the support of the people of Pakistan. Aid items sent to affected families in Sudan include tins of food, rice, hygiene kits, powdered milk and family packs, he concluded.
