JKSDMI delegation attends Romania’s National Day celebration in Manchester


MANCHESTER, Nov 19 (SABAH): A delegation from the Jammu Kashmir Self Determination Movement International (JKSDMI) joined the vibrant celebrations of Romania’s National Day at the iconic Manchester Cathedral. The event, hosted by the Consul General of Romania in Manchester, Mrs. Nicola Teodorovici, highlighted Romania’s rich cultural heritage and its strong ties with the Greater Manchester community.

The delegation from JKSDMI included former Lord Mayor of Manchester and Chairperson of the International Lobby on Kashmir, Cllr Yasmine Dar, former Lord Mayor of Manchester and Honorary Consul General of Kazakhstan, Cllr Abid Chohan, senior academic Tamoor Shafique, and former Manchester Councillor Majid Dar.

Key dignitaries at the event included Romania’s Ambassador to the UK, Laura Popescu, the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Diane Hawkins, and the Consul General of China in Manchester, Tang Rui. Their attendance underscored the importance of fostering international partnerships and celebrating the unity and diversity that enriches Greater Manchester.

 

JKSDMI’s participation reflected its ongoing commitment to international engagement and diplomacy. The delegation echoed the philosophy of their Founder Chairman, Raja Najabat Hussain, emphasizing the importance of building global partnerships and strengthening connections with international diplomats to advance their advocacy for the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
