Hafiz Naeemur Rehman strongly criticizes govt for its consistent failure to establish peace & order in KP & Balochistan

BAJAUR, Nov 18 (SABAH): Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), has strongly criticized the government for its consistent failure to establish peace and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan.

Addressing a condolence reference for Sufi Hameed, the JI General Secretary for Bajaur, who was tragically killed by terrorists four days ago, he expressed grave concern over the deteriorating security situation. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman pointed out that terrorists were able to target civilians with impunity, escaping despite the presence of check posts, adequate infrastructure, and funding allocated to law enforcement agencies.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized the urgent need for meaningful dialogue between Pakistan and Afghanistan to foster peace in the region. He also urged Islamabad to reconsider its approach to the war on terror, calling on the government to end its involvement in so-called US-led war on terrorism. “We have been paying the price for being part of this so-called US war on terror,” he said. “It is time for Pakistan to exit this war and develop its own independent policies, tailored to the country’s needs and realities.”

The JI Emir called for greater cooperation between the governments of Afghanistan and Pakistan, stressing that both nations should work together in the interests of Islam and their people. “Both countries must unite and play a responsible role that benefits the people on both sides of the border,” he said.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman highlighted the urgent need for development in KP and the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), underscoring that the region’s residents are in dire need of jobs, education, and sustainable opportunities. He criticized military operations, stating that they have failed to bring about lasting peace. “Policies that instill fear among the people will not work,” he said.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman vowed that Jamaat-e-Islami would no longer remain silent in the face of targeted killings of its workers and ordinary citizens. “We stand with the people in their demand for peace,” he declared. Reaffirming the party’s commitment to peaceful resistance, he stressed that the establishment of an Islamic system is crucial for ensuring lasting peace and prosperity. “Our ultimate struggle is for the implementation of this system,” he added. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman called on both the provincial government of KP and the central government to fulfill their constitutional responsibility to protect the lives and property of the people. He also announced that Jamaat-e-Islami would initiate talks with political parties and various segments of society, including lawyers, scholars, and students, to facilitate a national dialogue for peace, particularly in KP and Balochistan.
