Peace in Middle East is linked with peace in Palestine: Sardar Ayaz Sadiq


ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (SABAH): Ambassador of Syrian Republic in Pakistan, Dr. Ramez Alraee called on Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at Parliament House on Monday. Matters pertaining to bilateral relations and important regional and international issues were discussed in the meeting.

NA Speaker sardar ayaz Sadiq expressed that Pakistan will continue its unwavering cooperation and support to Syria in fields of mutual interest. NA Speaker mentioned that the peace in Middle East is linked with peace in Palestine. He also highlighted the importance of the Pak-Syria Parliamentary Friendship Group in fostering mutual understanding and collaboration. He also appreciated the hospitality extended by Syria to Pakistani Zaireen visiting Syria for Zyaraat of shrines.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq while lauding the commencement of commercial flight operations of Syrian Airlines between Damascus and Lahore said that flight operations would promote people-to-people contact, trade and tourism between both brotherly nations.

Syrian Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Ramez Alraee said that Syrian Government wants to strengthen the existing Pak-Syria ties through enhanced cooperation in diverse fields. He said that the initiative of newly started flight operation would strengthen the socio-economic cooperation between both countries.

Meanwhile Ambassador of People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Brahim Romani met with NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq at the Parliament House on Monday. Both sides discussed matters of mutual interests regarding enhanced cooperation in trade & energy sector and parliamentary diplomacy.

While expressing Pakistan Government’s desire to strengthen relations with Algeria in various fields, Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted the need to increase bilateral cooperation in the trade and other socio-economic sectors especially energy sector. While noting Pakistan’s commitment towards its “Look Africa” policy, he said that Algeira is an important country of North Africa and consider Algeria as an important partner of “Look Africa” policy. He also emphasized the need to increase people-to-people contacts along with parliamentary cooperation through the Pak-Algeria Friendship Group (PFG).

NA Speaker deplored the severe human rights violations in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and the stressed upon the international community to play its due role to end the aggression in Palestine and IIOJK.

Ambassador of Algeria to Pakistan, Brahim Romani said that Algeria government wanted to further solidify the existing bilateral relations through enhanced parliamentary and economic cooperation. He appreciated Pakistan’s support for a peaceful resolution of Western Sahara Issue.
