Aafia Siddiqui release demand: Citizens throng to GPO Saddar for sending postcards to US President

KARACHI, Nov 17 (SABAH): Citizens of mega city Karachi in a large number reached to GPO Saddar to send postcards for the release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui to the US president on the appeal of Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui.

Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui the previous day in a video message had appealed the citizens of Karachi to write letters regarding clemency petition number C-310439, appealing to release Aafia Siddiqui on humanitarian grounds.

Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui said that the government of Pakistan has already written a letter to the US government and now it is the turn of our citizens to write to the US president in a large number for release of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

However, thousands of citizens including men, women and children sent postcards to the US president via the US embassy in Islamabad. Moreover, the online signature drive to demand the release of Aafia is also in full swing. The lawyers of Aafia say that it needs one Crore online signature for the release of Dr. Siddiqui.
