Kashmiri people will continue to resist Indian occupation till independence: Ghulam Muhammad Safi
MUZAFFARABAD, Nov 4 (SABAH): All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir Branch Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi has announced that the struggle will continue on all fronts until the just solution of the Kashmir issue. He said resistance of the Kashmiri people will continue on all fronts until the achievement of right to self-determination.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi was addressing a press conference at the Central Press Club along with other freedom leaders. He said that the Kashmiri people pay homage to hundreds and thousands of martyrs of November 6, 1947. He said the Dogra army, Hindu extremist organizations, and Sikh martyred them. He said that despite the passage of seventy years, the Kashmiri people have not forgotten the worst tragedies of November 6, 1947, which were repeated in different areas of Jammu province.
He said that the Indian rulers had massacred 400,000 Muslims under a conspiracy and forced hundreds and thousands of families to migrate due to which the dominant Muslim majority of Jammu province had turned into a minority. Ghulam Mohammad Safi said that since 1989, countless Kashmiris have been martyred by the Indian Army for demanding freedom, rights and justice in the occupied valley.
He said that the Kashmiri people are running a strong resistance movement against India which will continue till independence. He said that the All-Party Hurriyat Conference wants a solution to the Kashmir issue that includes the will and intention of the Kashmiri people.
He said the Hurriyat Conference demands the United Nations to fulfill its responsibilities for the Kashmir issue. He further said that India cannot crush the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people. He said that Pakistan should make relationship with India in the light of a just solution to the Kashmir issue.
He said that the Hurriyat Conference wanted the release of all Kashmiri prisoners imprisoned in Indian jails, including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Musarat Alam Butt, Asiya Andrabi, Qasim Faktoo, Ayaz Akbar, Saifullah Pir, Dr. Hameed Fayyaz and others.
