Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh acknowledges APAG’s efforts in promoting Pakistani heritage & identity in the American society

NEW YORK, Nov 02 (SABAH): Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, attended a luncheon hosted by the American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) in New York. The event brought together prominent local leaders, including State Senator John Liu, New York Assembly member David Weprin, and Council-member Linda Lee.

Ambassador Sheikh acknowledged APAG’s efforts in promoting Pakistani heritage and identity in the American society and highlighted the importance of working with local representatives to enhance educational, economic, and social opportunities for the Pakistani-American community.

During his visit, Ambassador Sheikh also joined APAG office bearers on a visit to the newly dedicated “Allama Iqbal Avenue” in Richmond Hill, Queens. Ambassador Sheikh lauded the naming of the avenue as a meaningful recognition of Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Iqbal, and a tribute to Pakistan’s heritage in New York City. He expressed appreciation for APAG’s efforts in securing this honor, which serves as a symbol of pride for the Pakistani diaspora and strengthens cultural connections between Pakistan and the United States.

Meanwhile Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh met with Organization for Pakistani Entrepreneurs leadership led by Tariq Khan, to discuss strengthening Pakistan-America ties in entrepreneurship, investment, and digital transformation. Avenues were explored to empower Pakistani startups and expand tech and trade collaboration.
