Alkhidmat Women Wing Trust lays foundation stone of Aghosh Educational Complex for orphan girls on 9 kanals in Faisal Town near Islamabad New Airport
RAWALPINDI, Nov 01 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Women Wing Trust has laid foundation stone of Alkhidmat Aghosh Educational Complex for orphan girls on 9 kanals area in Faisal Town near the new airport in the federal capital, Islamabad.
In this regard, chief guests President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, Chairperson Alkhidmat Women Wing Trust Naveeda Anees, Director Faisal Town Chaudhry Moazzam Majeed and other leading people and prominent personalities from different walks of life participated and expressed their views.
On this occasion, various philanthropists presented donations of crores of rupees for the project. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that there are currently more than 44 lakh orphans in Pakistan, half of whom are in need and they do not have access to basic needs such as education, health and food.
With the help of Allah Almighty and the support of the pious people, Alkhidmat Foundation is spending 2.5 billion rupees annually for the support of 32 thousand children, he said and added people should offer their financial support in this project for orphan girls so that this project could be completed soon. After the construction on this area of 9 kanals, accommodation, education, health, moral training, skills and other needs will be arranged for 200 orphan girls, he added.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that the first Aghosh Home was established in Attock for children who became orphans as a result of the 2005 earthquake and then the chain spread throughout Pakistan. Currently, 23 Aghosh Homes are supporting orphans while 8 Aghosh Orphan Homes are under construction. In Gaziantep, Turkey, under the management of Alkhidmat Foundation, Aghosh is working for the orphan children of Syria, while the construction of Alkhidmat Aghosh in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan is going on at high pace.
Alkhidmat Women Wing Trust Chairperson Naveeda Anees said that in 2016, the pilot project of Aghosh Girls was started in Islamabad, in which 43 orphan girls are now being supported. At present, 150 orphan girls are being provided with all the necessities including education, accommodation and food in Aghosh Orphan Girls Centre, Sheikhupura, she added.
She said that Alkhidmat Aghosh Educational Complex is a mega project which has been divided into two parts. In Aghosh Orphan Homes, 200 orphan girls will be fully supported, while in the Educational Center, educational and skill development projects will be established for girls and women. In the Complex, the project of Educational Community Centers is also a part of the plan in which auditorium, digital library, co-working space and hi-tech gym facilities will be available for the students, she noted.
Chaudhry Muazzam Majeed while paying tribute to the welfare projects of Alkhidmat, especially the sponsorship of orphans, said that it is a blessing and an honor for us to be a part of sponsorship for orphans. He said we announce 25 lakh rupees for the construction of the Complex, adding we will continue supporting Alkhidmat Foundation.
