Justice for Palestine & IIOJK raised at the PGA Forum & 13th Consultative Assembly on ICC & Rule of Law
ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (SABAH): The plight of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) took center stage at the PGA Forum and the 13th Consultative Assembly of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) on the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the Rule of Law, held at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS), Islamabad on Monday.
During the assembly, Sehar Kamran, Member National Assembly of Pakistan, raised grave concerns over the escalating genocide and war crimes in Gaza and Lebanon, as well as the ongoing illegal occupation and human rights violations in Palestine and Kashmir.
Addressing the gathering, Sehar Kamran highlighted disturbing statistics: since October 7, 2024, more than 42,500 Palestinians have been killed, over 100,000 injured, and 1.9 million displaced. Hospitals and UN shelters have been targeted, while media personnel and children remain under constant attack. She also condemned the use of phosphorus bombs and the weaponization of toys, calling these actions acts of genocide.
Mrs. Kamran further questioned the international justice system’s effectiveness and criticized the United Nations’ double standards. “We are witnessing live genocide in Gaza, watching children killed every day. The UN Security Council has failed to fulfill its responsibilities, and there is an urgent need to reform the UNSC,” she remarked.
The statement from Sehar Kamran underscores the pressing need for accountability and decisive action to address the ongoing violations of human rights.
This call for justice reflects Pakistan’s unwavering stance on global issues of human rights and reinforces the need for international reforms to prevent further atrocities.
