Death toll from Israeli strikes on Gaza Strip exceeds 42,603
GAZA, Oct 23: The death toll from Israel’s strikes on the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the current escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in early October 2023 has exceeded 42,603 including women, children and elderly people and more than 10,000 children under rubble.
According to the details issued by the Friends of Palestine, as many as 42,603 people have been martyred. As many as 158 civilians received wounds during the other day, bringing the overall number of those wounded up to 99,795.
More than 3750 massacres against Palestinian families occurred by bombing their homes while they were still inside whereas 36 children died. More than 17000 orphan children in Gaza lost their parents or at least one of them across the Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas because of malnutrition and dehydration amid growing famine.
54 detainees died in Israeli jails under systematic torture and deliberate medical negligence since October 7, 2023. On the other side mass graves were also discovered across the Gaza Strip until May 1. The government media office said that on May 1 the losses and destruction from the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza exceeds $33 billion.
More than 5000 Palestinians have been arrested, adding they have been held in unknown locations. Images and videos by the Israeli occupation soldiers showed how they were arrested hundreds of Palestinians after forcing them to strip off their clothes.
More than 987 medical staff was martyred and more than 312 medical staff was arrested or missing. 34 hospitals are out of service while more than 80 health care centers have been stopped.
Israeli forces killed 177 journalists and damaged 182 media and press offices.
Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip and launched bombardments of the enclave and some areas in Lebanon and Syria, as well as a ground operation against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Clashes are also reported in the West Bank.
