Constitutional Amendment is indispensable for supremacy of Parliament: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE, Oct 21 (SABAH): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that the 26th Constitutional Amendment will bring justice in time.

In one of her statements, Maryam Nawaz Sharif congratulated the nation on the passing of the 26th Constitutional Amendment and said that it was a clear message of the people’s voice being the loudest. The constitutional amendment was indispensable for the supremacy of the parliament.

She said that with the approval of the 26th Constitutional Amendment, the Parliament has regained its full constitutional authority and dignity. It will bring justice in time and will be seen to be done. The amendment will also place Pakistan in the ranks of the ideal democracy of the world.

The Chief Minister further said that the 26th Constitutional Amendment opened the chapter of positive reforms in the judicial system. The judiciary has been made independent and more stable, and public access to justice has been ensured. The provision of the abolition of interest is welcome.
