Lawyer Clive Stafford Smith says Dr. Aafia Siddiqui desperately needs medical help

KARACHI, Oct 21 (SABAH): The American lawyer of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, Clive Stafford Smith, has said that Dr. Siddiqui’s health is deteriorating and she desperately needs medical help.

In an interview, he said her physical health is very poor. “When you see her she has lost all her teeth on one side. She is not allowed to wear dentures. She hasn’t got any dental care.”

He said they once said she will get it. They took her for x-rays through strip search but then they did nothing for two years. When next time they asked about her tests, she said she didn’t want her strip search by these people again.

Clive Smith said Dr. Aafia is deaf in one ear, and bad hearing in other. This is result of beating in Bagram airbase Afghanistan and elsewhere. Her eyesight is bad. She has go palsy in face. She has got numbness in feet due to diabetes.

The lawyer said she desperately needs medical help. She desperately needs therapy.  She needs to see her kids. She wants to know about her son Suleman, her youngest who was kidnapped along with her and her other children, said Clive Smith.
