Human Rights Society of Pakistan award for Alkhidmat Foundation in recognition of its services at home & abroad

LAHORE, Oct 17 (SABAH): In recognition of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s services at home and abroad, the Human Rights Society of Pakistan has awarded it the Human Rights Award. 

The award was received by Vice President Muhammad Abdul Shakur on behalf of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan. In this regard, the 40th Human Rights Awards ceremony was held at a local hotel in Lahore, in which individuals and organizations who have rendered outstanding performance and services in the fields of service, human rights, literature and journalism were honored with awards. 

Apart from Alkhidmat Foundation in the field of service, public poet Shakir Shujaabadi in literature and late Arshad Sharif in journalism were also given an award, which was received by his wife Jawaria Siddique.

On this occasion, President Human Rights Society of Pakistan Syed Asim Zafar, Vice President Alexander John Malik, Javed Nawaz, Secretary General M. A. Shakuri, President Supreme Court Bar Association Shehzad Shaukat, Senior Journalist Sohail Waraich, President Chamber of Commerce Mian Abuzar Shaad, Ali Bukhari, Senior Manager Media Relations Shoaib Hashmi and religious personalities participated.

The participants and organizers paid tribute to Alkhidmat Foundation for its services.

On this occasion, Muhammad Abdul Shakoor thanked the officials of the Human Rights Society of Pakistan and paid tribute to the services of the founder of the Human Rights Award, jurist S. M. Zafar.

He said that Alkhidmat Foundation is providing services on purely humanitarian basis without discrimination of race, color and religion. He said Alkhidmat has played an effective role in any sudden disaster in Pakistan including earthquake, flood and corona, adding Alkhidmat volunteers are our capital who put their lives in danger to protect human lives. 

Muhammad Abdul Shakoor concluded by saying that Alkhidmat performed services at the invitation of the Turkish government during the recent earthquake in Turkey, and was also awarded by President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
