Contracts of IPPs owned by govt, army & Sharif family should be terminated immediately: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

GUJRAT, Oct 11 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the contracts of IPPs owned by the government, army and the Sharif family should be terminated immediately.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a public meeting in Gujrat on Friday. Emir Punjab province North Dr. Tariq Saleem, Information Secretary Jamaat-e-Islami Qaiser Sharif, General Secretary Punjab province North Iqbal Khan, Deputy Emir province Hafiz Tanveer, Emir Gujrat district Chaudhry Ansar Mehmood, Emir Jhelum district Dr. Qasim, Emir Sargodha district Awais Qasim, Emir district Mandi Bahauddin Saifullah Sahi and other leaders were also present on this occasion.

He said the proposed constitutional amendment related to the Supreme Court is an attack on the Constitution and the opposition should reject it completely as the debate on the details is tantamount to strengthening the government, adding the vote in favor of the constitutional amendment will be a tool of the establishment. He noted a handful of elites have been controlling the resources for 77 years, adding the people should get ready for a decisive fight against it.

He said the Jamaat-e-Islami’s ‘Haq Do Tehreek’ is for the relief of the people, adding the membership campaign will continue till October 31. He said the workers of Jamaat-e-Islami should fulfill the target as the team should also be big for a big and sharp fight. On November 3, he said Banu Qabil program will be started across Pakistan and added 10 lakh youth and teachers will be given free IT training while curriculum will also be prepared.

He said the Jamaat-e-Islami is the only party that is standing in the field. On the extension of General (R) Bajwa, PTI, PML-N, QL and PPP were all united but Jamaat-e-Islami did not vote. He said that political parties cannot be acquitted on the pretext of oppression, if ‘you want to do politics, learn to deal with all kinds of situations.’

He said dozens of taxes have been included in electricity bills, IPPs have been exempted from paying capacity charges along with taxes, on the other hand people are deprived of basic needs, women do not get inheritance rights, 90% youth are deprived of quality education.

Meanwhile, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman while addressing the online convention of women teachers across the country said that the teachers have to work for the reformation of the oppressive system along with the training of the young generation. He said Islam’s concept of education and training is that man was created with knowledge and was sent to the world with this knowledge. The knowledge that was useful. By which morals and character are built and it is useful for the rest of the creatures, he added.

He said that if the education system does not create the ability to face global challenges and it does not inform against opposing philosophies then it is limited knowledge, adding Syed Abul A’la al-Maududi may God bless him and grant him peace, outlined an excellent education system.
