MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 11 (SABAH): Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, head of Hizbul Mujahideen and Chairman of United Jihad Council, has said that Dr. Manan Wani Shaheed’s selfless struggle on the academic and ideological fronts is a beacon for us.
These views were expressed by Hizb chief and Chairman Muttahida Jihad Council Syed Salahuddin while addressing a special event organized in Dr. Manan Wani Shaheed’s memory here on Friday.
He said that on October 11, 2018, the beloved leader of Hizbul Mujahideen, Dr. Manan Bashir Wani, along with his companion Ashiq Hussain Zargar, were martyred. He used a pen to resist but provided his blood to illuminate that pen.
The Hizb chief referred to an article by Dr. Manan Shaheed in which he wrote, “Resistance is resistance. It can never be peaceful and violent. In fact, the violence is not that we have raised the gun against Indian domination or occupation, but the violence is the presence of 9 lakh Indian troops in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Violence is the presence of military barracks, bunkers, checkpoints, and occupation itself is a great violence. Therefore, those who advocate occupation must understand the difference between violence and immunity.
Syed Salahuddin Ahmed said that those who do not understand this argument of Dr. Manan Wani, advocates of occupation and domination are now seeing suffering with their own eyes that the actual violence is the presence of 9 lakh Indian army in state of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said everyone associated with Hizbul Mujahideen, from the leader to the workers, pays homage to the great mujahid and intellectual and reiterate their determination that resistance will continue to end the occupation of Indian colonialism, the resistance described by martyr Dr. Manan Wani.
