DFP strongly condemns blasphemous remarks by a Hindu fanatic Yati Narsinghanand

SRINAGAR, Oct 07 (SABAH): Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has strongly condemned the blasphemous remarks against Prophet Mohammed (SAW) by a Hindu fanatic Yati Narsinghanand in Maharashtra state.

Terming Narsinghanand’s objectionable remarks as a wicked attempt to hurt the sentiments of the Muslims, the DFP Spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal said that the derogatory speech reflects Islamophobia and growing hatred against the Muslims in the Indian society.

He said that the BJP-RSS nexus, which seeks to convert India into a formal Hindu state, has a history of stoking communal hatred to retain power.

While communal violence has gained traction in the Indian society, he said that the hate crimes and hate speeches against the country’s Muslim minority by members of the extremist Hindus occurred in greater frequency since Prime Minister Narendra Modi, leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), came to power in 2014.

These communal policies, he said, have brought Muslims to the brink of genocide in India and Kashmir.

The DFP spokesman, while urging Kashmiri Muslims to hold peaceful protest to express their resentment against this cowardly act, sought a stern action against the Narsinghanand and others who have been involved in this blasphemous act, which he said won’t be tolerated by the Muslims who hold the prophet SAW dearer to their lives.
