Dr. Fowzia Siddiuqi briefs Dr. Zakir Naik on ordeal of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui

KARACHI, Oct 06 (SABAH): Global Aafia Movement Chairperson Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui called on the global Islamic preacher Dr. Zakir Naik at the Governor House in Karachi and briefed him on the ordeal of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.

The meeting continued for more than 45 minutes. Dr. Fowzia welcomed Dr. Zakir Naik on his visit to Pakistan and praised his global preaching services. She said Dr. Zakir Naik is presenting the true face of Islam before the world.

Dr. Fowzia briefed him about the details of the atrocities Dr. Aafia has been enduring for last two decades. She said 21 years ago Dr. Aafia was kidnapped along with her three minor children. Her two children were later freed but the third child, youngest of them who was just six months old at that time, is still missing and nobody knows if he is dead or alive.

Dr. Naik Naik listened to this ordeal with wet eyes. Dr. Fowzia requested him for special prayers for early release of Aafia. She also presented him a religious Fatwa or decree of the teacher of Jamia Ummul Qura of Mecca, Abu Muhammad Abdullah Alhijazi, saying if any Muslim woman is in custody of non-Muslims it is the responsibility of all Muslim people and countries to work for her release. She told him that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui was also a preacher. On the occasion, a video made in the US about the respect of women and human rights in Islam.
