New elections are the way forward to end the prevailing political instability: Sirajul Haq


LAHORE, Mar 19 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has lost trust of the masses, adding the new elections are the way forward to end the prevailing political instability.

In a statement issued from Mansoorah on Saturday, Sirajul Haq also condemned the threats being issued to the parliamentarians. The politics of foul language and abuses could not be allowed in any civilized society, he said, asking the political parties to settle their issues through peaceful democratic and constitutional way. He said the elections should be held in free and transparent manner.

Sirajul Haq said the PTI government had failed to deliver in four years and now instead of talking about performance, the prime minister and ministers were indulged into blame game which did not suit to a ruling party. He also criticized the turncoat culture, saying it had remained a practice in the country’s politics for decades. The absence of ideological politics, he said, which was not allowed to promote in the country since its freedom provided basis to the lotacracy, he added.

Sirajul Haq said the PTI government was un-natural alliance and the ruling party itself was a gathering of waderas and feudal from different political parties. The failure of the PTI, he said, was written on the wall since its formed government in 2018.

He asked the opposition and the government to adopt the way of dialogue to end the crisis which otherwise posing serious threat to democracy.

He said the country needed to get rid of the status quo and an Islamic system based on equal opportunities to every citizen was the solution to the Pakistan’s problems. He said the JI wanted to bring real change and it needed support of the people for it.
