Rs 22 million collected during first donors’ conference for orphan children held in Mirpur under Alkhidmat Foundation Azad Kashmir


MIRPUR, Mar 19(SABAH): Under Alkhidmat Foundation Azad Kashmir, the annual donors’ conference was held in Mirpur for the Orphan Care Program. The chief guest of the donor conference was President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Mian Muhammad Abdul Shakoor.

 

While addressing the participants of the donor conference, Mian Muhammad Abdul Shakoor said that along with carrying out other relief activities, the people of Mirpur are also running the Orphan Care Program for the orphan children in whole country, adding that till now 19,000 orphan children are being looked after under this program, out of them 1,500 are from Azad Kashmir.

Mian Muhammad Abdul Shakoor while appealing to the people of Mirpur said that you have an important role in the looking after of the orphan children said that you people should become example in upcoming years that Mirpur is the area where no orphan child is deprived of the education.

On the appeal of President Alkhimdat Foundation Pakistan the participants donated donations of Rs 22 million to Alkhidmat Foundation Azad Kashmir, which will be used for looking after 236 orphan children from Mirpur.

While addressing on the occasion Senior Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Azad Kashmir Raja Jehangir Khan and Secretary General Aftab Alam Advocate said that they present salute to the people of Mirpur and thanked them. They said that with the Blessings of Almighty Allah, in next few years we will reach the last orphan child in Mirpur and will educate him and make him the useful citizen of the society. The ceremony was also addressed by Director Orphan Care Program Azad Kashmir Commodore (retd) Mohsin Mirza, Chairman Aghosh UK Dr. Adeel Riaz and former president Alkhidmat Foundation Azad Kashmir Dr. Riaz Ahmed. Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Mirpur, President District Bar Association Mirpur Raja Imtiaz and President Press Club Mirpur also attended the ceremony.
