48% Pakistanis think the coalition partners should support opposition in no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan


ISLAMABAD, Mar 19 (SABAH): According to the results of the latest survey conducted by a non-governmental organization IPSOS, only 27 percent Pakistanis think Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) coalition partners should support Prime Minister Imran Khan in upcoming no-confidence motion. A greater number 48 percent think they should support opposition. Meanwhile 26 percent people did not reply the question. The question was asked, what should PTI coalition partners do in the current scenario?

The second question was asked during the survey that who will be successful in the upcoming ‘no-confidence motion’ against Imran Khan?

While replying the question, only 26% Pakistanis think Government would be successful in upcoming no confidence motion, as opposed to 42% who think opposition would succeed. 31 percent people who took part in the survey did not reply the question.

The third question was asked during the survey that should PM Imran Khan resign right now or face the no-confidence motion?

While replying the question, highest vote (44%) in favour of Imran Khan resigning right now, even before the no-confidence motion, 33% think he should face the motion and 23 percent people did not respond the question.

The fourth question was asked during the survey that if no-confidence motion becomes successful, who should become the PM?

According to the answer, if no confidence motion becomes successful, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif ranks as the number one immediate candidate for PM with the support of 27 percent people, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari ranked second while securing support of 17 percent people and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi remained on third position while securing support of only 6 percent, Asif Ali Zardari three percent and others thee percent. Meanwhile 43 percent participants did not reply the answer.

The fifth question was asked during the survey, who Pakistanis think should be the PM after next general elections?

According to the results of the question, in next General elections, only 16% expect Imran Khan to become PM again, more votes for Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif (18% and 14%) respectively. Meanwhile 12 percent expect Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be the prime minister, four percent think Maryam Nawaz Sharif will become the prime minister, 2 percent think Hamza Shehnaz Sharif, two percent think Asif Ali Zardari, two percent think Maulana Fazlur Rehman and two percent for others. Meanwhile 28 percent did not answer the question.

The survey was conducted between 11th to 16th March 2022; meanwhile 1001 people took part in the survey.
