SC verdict relies heavily on the self-serving concept of ‘Complete Justice’ to justify the relief provided to PTI: Akbar S. Babar

ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (SABAH): Commenting on the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s majority verdict in the “Reserved Seats Case,” PTI Founding Member Akbar Sher Babar stated that the verdict relies heavily on the self-serving concept of “Complete Justice” to justify the relief provided to PTI, even though it was not a party to the case nor demanded the relief provided to it.

Akbar S. Babar said that so the question arises: Was PTI the only political party aggrieved of the electoral process or other political parties also complained of unfair practices. We all know that several political parties complained of unfair practices. In fact, during post election re-counting, the declared results have been overturned in favour of other political parties.

Akbar S. Babar that this raises the fundamental question: Why were the grievances of other political parties not addressed under the same concept of “Complete Justice” and relief provided, just like in the case of PTI.

Akbar S. Babar said that this is a fundamental question, besides many other legal questions, that undermines the credibility of the entire verdict as it appears less “Complete Justice” and more “Tailored Justice” in favour of PTI only.
