Ruling class united for interests, irrespective of cast, creed color: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

KARACHI, Sep 22 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer  Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has shed light on virtually dissected anatomy of the ruling elite in the country, in the most ruthless way possible and said that the rulers only believe in unity among themselves in order to safeguard their interests.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a session at the Karachi Expo Center, on Sunday, while he was delivering a lecture at the two-day biannual countrywide central convention held by the Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA).

Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the ruling elite was a class that doesn’t believe in cast, creed or color but their mutual interests. He further said that every society has its own boiling point and it seems that the days of ruling elites in Pakistan are numbered. Unlike Bangladesh, the ruling elite in Pakistan might not be offered the airlift opportunity, he said.

Talking about the domestic scenario, he said that 30 million Pakistani children are out of schools because either they don’t have the opportunity or they have to earn livelihood for their families. He said that the Sindh government has allocated Rs454 billion for the education sector and overall a budget to the tune of 15,000 billion have been earmarked by all provinces.

Similarly, he also shed light on the health sector. A large number of people from far flung areas visit Karachi for health services because they don’t have proper health facilities in their own areas. He explained that massive funds and minimal facilities are a result of corruption, massive corruption in the education and health sectors.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman elaborated that the scale of corruption has been expending because the people have accepted as their fate and a new normal in the society. The corruption and mismanagement in the public sector pave ways for private sectors to flourish despite the fact that the private sectors were supposed to support the public sector, he said.

The JI leader highlighted that the government of Punjab has decided to handover 14,000 public sector schools to the private sector and the Sindh government will be following the suit.

Furthermore, he said, the Pakistan People Party government in Sindh has been sheltering itself behind the non-governmental sector. Why do we pay hefty tax, if we have to pay separately for infrastructure, education, health care and other basic necessities, he raised a point.

In this backdrop, he said resistance against the ruling elite was the only way forward. The time has come for the nation to get united against the oppressers, he said, adding that the unity among the nation against injustice would be a fatal blow to the selfish ruling elite. He urged the youth of the country to gear up for a decisive struggle against the ruling elite.

Talking about the issue of Gaza, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman paid a rich tribute to the freedom fighters in Gaza. He reiterated his stance that the criminal silence and lack of mobility empowered Israel to murder innocent Palestinian mothers, senior citizens and their offspring with impunity.

Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan President Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman shed light in detail on the contribution of Alkhidmat Foundation for the affected people of Gaza.
