Ali Raza Syed pays rich tribute to late Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani
BRUSSELS, Sep 02 (SABAH): Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed paid a rich tribute to late Syed Ali Shah Geelani, the prominent Kashmiri leader for his life-long freedom struggle in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Talking in meeting of core committee of KC-EU at its secretariat in Brussels on Syed Ali Geelani’s third death anniversary, Ali Raza Syed said, Syed Ali Geeani spent his whole life under prolonged house arrest and detention in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir but never gives up his commitment to the right to self determination of the people of Kashmir. Despite of huge obstacles and hardships, Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s fearless devotion to the Kashmir cause was unparalleled. He inspired three generations of Kashmiris in resisting the illegal Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. He was a true voice and hero of the Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination, who never lost his ideological moorings for a single moment.
He not ever compromised on the cause of Kashmir and will be remembered for his unconditional love for Kashmir and people of Kashmir.
Ali Raza Syed said, Syed Ali Geelani was a great Kashmiri freedom leader who struggled during his entire life for right to self determination of the people of Kashmir. He said, long detention and torture by Indian authorities could not force Syed Ali Geelani to compromise as he was a fearless leader and remained resolute.
Ali Raza Syed said, we pray that may Almighty Allah grant Syed Ali Geelani the highest place in Jannah and give courage to the people of Kashmir to continue his great struggle. During the meeting, prayers were also offered for the late Geelani.
Participants also expressed condolences and offered fatiha for the deceased family members of Chairman Kashmir Council Europe Ali Raza Syed. It is important to mention that recently three of close relatives of Chair of KE-EU Ali Raza Syed; Uncle Syed Abu Talib Kazmi (former commissioner AJK), brother in law Colonel (retd) Syed Imdad Ali Shah and a cousin sister left this world within a few days.
