Kashmir is the part of Pakistan & India cannot end the movement of Kashmiris’ right to self determination through force: Rana Qaim Noon


ISLAMABAD, Sep 01 (SABAH): Chairman Parliamentary Kashmir Committee Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon while paying rich tribute to late iconic Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelan has said that Pakistan will continue its political, moral, and diplomatic support for Kashmiris. Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a champion of freedom, was committed to the cause of Kashmir’s freedom, which he viewed as an extension of Pakistan’s completion. Rana Qasim Noon condemned the atrocities of the Indian forces in occupied Kashmir and assured that every government and political party in Pakistan stands with the Kashmiris.

A ceremony was held at Jammu and Kashmir House in Islamabad to mark the third death anniversary of Iconic Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell. The event was attended by a diverse group of individuals including Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq, Chairman Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Secretary General of the World Islamic Congress; Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, Chairman of the Parliamentary Kashmir Committee; Sirajul Haq, former emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Sardar Atiq Ahmed Khan, former prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Senator Sahar Kamran, Mahmood Ahmad Sagar, Muhammad Farooq Rahmani and others.

Rana Qasim Noon emphasized the need to highlight the Kashmir issue at international forums, including the United Nations and the OIC, and vowed to continue Geelani’s mission through the National Assembly’s Kashmir Committee. He said that Kashmir is the part of Pakistan and India cannot end the movement of Kashmiris’ right to self determination through force. He said that Kashmir is a state as well as a great civilization with its own rich culture and traditions. Rana Qasim Noon said that we are all united against the nefarious designs of India. He vowed to pursue the mission of Syed Ali Geelani of the freedom of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir from Indian clutches.

On the occasion Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq described Syed Ali Geelani as a great leader who made immense sacrifices for the freedom movement. Despite India’s attempts to suppress the Kashmiri struggle through force, Raja Zafarul Haq believed that Geelani’s mission would continue. He emphasized that international efforts are needed to advance the cause and that the collective efforts will ensure the mission’s success.

On the occasion ex-emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq praised Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s unwavering commitment and likened him to Nelson Mandela in terms of his prolonged incarceration and dedication. He highlighted Geelani’s ideological alignment with Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal, and expressed hope that the sacrifices of the Kashmiris will not be in vain. He said that the struggle of Syed Ali Geelani is metaphor for freedom struggle of Kashmir. He said that the hearts of Pakistanis beat with Kashmiris, adding that we could not ignore the Kahsmiri even for a moment. Sirajul Haq said that Pakistani government should formulate forceful policy regarding the Kashmir, adding that we assure the Kashmiris that 240 million Pakistani people are standing behind them. He said now Pakistan needed to take practical steps while moving forward from political and moral support of Kashmiris.

On the occasion Sardar Atiq Ahmed Khan lauded Geelani’s leadership even during difficult times and stressed that despite India’s actions on August 5th, which aimed to resolve the Kashmir issue, they have failed. He urged to maintain a strong stance on the freedom movement and to remain politically and diplomatically active.

Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir, praised Syed Ali Geelani’s unwavering stance and emphasized the need to continue advocating for the Kashmir issue and a national Kashmir policy.

Senator Sahar Kamran affirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for Kashmiris and emphasized that Geelani was a central figure in the freedom movement. She urged for continued efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions.

Muhammad Farooq Rahmani also paid homage to Geelani, calling his slogan “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours” the voice of every Kashmiri youth and vowed that his mission will be completed.

On this occasion, Rana Qasim Noon also visited the corner, associated with the Syed Ali Gilani in the Monument, where the belongings of the veteran Hurriyat leaders were placed.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and the stability and prosperity of Pakistan.
