Federal govt should immediately correct conditions of International Islamic University, Islamabad: Liaqat Baloch
ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-i-Islami Liaqat Baloch has urged the federal government to immediately take steps to correct the conditions of the International Islamic University, Islamabad and provide a better educational environment to the students and teachers. He said the elements who want to sabotage the meeting of the Board of Trust should be reined in.
Liaqat Baloch while meeting the student delegations in Rawalpindi/Islamabad and speaking at the meeting of energy sector experts said that the International Islamic University, Islamabad is a very important mother institution of the country. Academically, he said the internal factions of the institution and the mutual distrust of the state institutions have made the situation much worse for the students and teachers.
He said the President of Pakistan, who is the chancellor of the institution, and the Chief Justice of Pakistan, are key members of the Board of Trust. He said it would be a great tragedy to destroy an institution of global importance in their presence.
Liaqat Baloch said that the federal government should immediately take steps to correct the conditions of the International Islamic University, provide a better educational environment to the students and teachers, and those elements who want to sabotage the meeting of the Board of Trust should be curbed.
Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami has a commitment with the poor, traders, farmers, laborers and industrialists that the struggle to get rid of electricity, petrol, horrible taxes and IPPs will continue. He said if the government takes the path of wisdom and abolishes the taxes imposed on electricity, petrol, the wheel of the economy will run, an environment will be created to prevent unemployment and create confidence among the people.
He said that according to the agreement made by the government on dharna protest, it becomes its duty to give relief to the people. In case of escape from the agreement, the weak and controversial government will not be able to stand in front of public invasion.
Liaqat Baloch said when the rulers take criminal actions on public issues, the parliaments and assemblies are not representing the people and the federal and provincial governments are deceiving the people, then public protest becomes a constitutional, democratic and political right of political parties. . If the political leadership also becomes silent, the country becomes a victim of anarchy, he added.
