Jamaat-e-Islami Foreign Affairs Director Asif Luqman Qazi meets with President of Malaysia Islamic Party Abdul Hadi Awang

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 (SABAH): Director Foreign Affairs of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Asif Luqman Qazi met with the President of Malaysia Islamic Party, Abdul Hadi Awang.

Speaking on this occasion, the head of the Malaysian Islamic Party said that we have religious and cultural relations with Pakistan, many people under our leadership have studied in Pakistan, Malaysia is the home of all Muslims. Abdul Hadi Awang said that Syed Abul A’la Maududi’s books have guided us intellectually, Pakistanis who have settled permanently in Malaysia have also played a role in the basis of the Islamic movement in Malaysia.

He further said that there is a need for a broad-based movement at the global level for the liberation of Palestine, adding the oppression of the Palestinians has affected the world public opinion, even in the West, voices have been raised in support of the Palestinians. He said that youth have to play an important role in Islamic movements. Youth should be given job opportunities.

Asif Luqman Qazi invited Sheikh Abdul Hadi to visit Pakistan on this occasion, which he accepted. It should be noted that currently “PAS” is the largest Malaysian party in the parliament, which has the government in four of the thirteen provinces of Malaysia.
