Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s family has been humiliated by Bangladeshi people for second time: Liaqat Baloch

RAWALPINDI, Aug 6 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has said that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman family was humiliated by Bangladeshi people for the second time. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina Wajid came to power and adopted dictatorial approach instead of democracy and public welfare.

Addressing the dharna participants and giving an interview to the media channels, Liaqat Baloch said that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s family was humiliated by their people for the second time. He said that India used Hasina Wajid for its own purposes and gave free rein to oppress the people and because of this Indian patronage, hatred against Hasina Wajid reached its peak in Bangladesh and Bangladeshi people came to know that India is not their friend. He said that people of Bangladesh sided with Fatima Jinnah in 1962, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1970 for democracy and public welfare but the civil-military establishment killed the aspirations of Bengalis.

He said Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Hasina Wajid came to power and adopted dictatorial approach instead of democracy and public welfare and both became the target of people’s revenge. He said the people of Bangladesh, especially the students and young people, created a new history of resistance against dictatorial and unconstitutional rulers around the world.

Liaqat Baloch while addressing the public meeting on the Yom-e-Istehsal said that on August 5, 2019, the fascist Narendra Modi abolished Article 370 and 35-A in the Indian Constitution and took away the rights of the Kashmiris. In the last 5 years Occupied Kashmir has been turned into a full military zone, the Indian Army is using rape of women as a weapon, he added.

Liaqat Baloch said the move of August 05 is a unilateral move by India and against the decisions and resolutions of international organizations, adding the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh have rejected the decision of Modi and Delhi. He noted the Indian people also rejected the Modi government on the occasion of the elections. He said international organizations and world powers should put pressure on India to withdraw its illegal and inhuman actions.
