We want practical steps & not need only announcements & committees: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman 

RAWALPINDI, August 06 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that we want practical steps and not need only announcements and committees, adding that the participants of the sit-in will move forward on 8th August. He said that some of the agreements struck with the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) should be abolished and some should be reviewed; meanwhile forensic audit of all the agreements should be carried out. He said that the rulers should learn lesion from Bangladesh situation.

This was stated by Hafiz Naeemur Rehman while addressing a press conference during the 12th day of the JI sit-in going on in front of the Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi. Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Ameerul Azim, Naib Emirs of JI Liaqat Baloch, Dr. Osama Razi, Dr. Attaur Rehman, Deputy Secretary Generals of JI Azhar Iqbal Hassan, Sheikh Usman Farooq, Mumtaz Hussain Sehto, Secretary Information JI Qaiser Sharif, JI North Punjab Emir Dr. Tariq Saleem and Emir JI Islamabad Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa and other leaders were also present on the occasion.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that on 8th August the participants of the sit-in will move forward and a mammoth march will be carried out on Murree Road, adding that he will inform about the details of the march tomorrow (Wednesday), adding that on 11th August a mammoth sit-in and public gathering will be staged in front of the chief minister house in Lahore. He said that on 12th August a march and public gathering will be held in Peshawar, adding that we are also going to give shutter down strike call in the country. He said that the consultations have been completed with the traders and businessmen, adding that after 14th August complete shutter down strike call in the country will be given. 

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the government is not coming at the front but it has become worried, adding that the budget of the houses has been destroyed due to the electricity bills, adding that the electricity bills should be sent according to the cost of the electricity. He said that capacity payments being made to the IPPs are not acceptable for the masses, adding that the government is not showing seriousness. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that we did not want announcements and committees but practical steps, adding that Auditor General Pakistan, Chairman WAPDA, federal chamber of commerce and representatives of the consumers should be included in the negotiation committee. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that our committee could contest the case of 250 million people of Pakistan in front of the whole world, adding that our agenda is clear, our sit-in will not end. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that we did not want to deteriorate the circumstances of the country, adding that many people are involved in deterioration of the circumstances of the country.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that out march on the Murree road will be peaceful, adding that carrying out march on the Murree road is our right, adding that sit-in and negotiations will remain continue. He said that Pakistan was established on the basis of ideology and not on the basis of geography, adding that Pakistan was divided due to the stubbornness of General Yahya Khan and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, adding that the country could not afford any further division.
