Sit-in has created hope among the masses so we can not detract from this sit-in: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

RAWALPINDI, August 03 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the sit-in has created hope among the masses so we can not detract from this sit-in. He said that the politics will only be done on the issue of masses, adding that we will only end the sit-in after securing our right. He said that the government has not answer of our any demand, adding that from last three days the negotiation committee of the government has become the search missing committee.

This was stated by Hafiz Naeemur Rehman while addressing a press conference on the 9th day of the JI sit-in continues outside the Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi on Saturday after returning from Qatar. JI Naib Emirs Liaqat Baloch, Mian Muhammad Aslam, JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim, JI North Punjab Emir Dr. Tariq Saleem, JI Information Secretary Qaiser Sharif and other leaders were also present on the occasion.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that today is the 9th day of the historic sit-in, adding that our sit-in has become the masses strength. He said that the participants are present peacefully and he presents rich tribute to them. He said that the sit-in will prove new turn in the history of Pakistan, adding that the political step is moving forward on the basis of the masses problems. He said that the hardships of the masses should be ended and this is our politics. He said that instead of heavy rain and storm our sit-in will start in Karachi, adding that this process will not stop and process of sit-ins in whole country will further expand.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the people are worried due to the electricity bills, adding that when he was leaving for Qatar he met some people at the airport who paid the bills while selling motorcycles.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that these people to continue the personal and family politics, adding that new culture is being introduced in Pakistan and politics of electables is ending.

He said that the JI sit-in would continue until its demands were met by the government. The JI emir said that sit-in had awakened the people, adding that people had pinned their hopes on the JI for representing them in the so far nine-day long protest.

Meanwhile during a Podcast interview Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that the government is not ready to quit its perks and privileges but the process of further putting burden on the masses is continues. He said that millions of people are forced to face difficulties just for benefiting few families. He said that the government could stop the electricity theft, adding that whosoever commits theft of electricity should be sent more bill. He said that the salaried class paid Rs 368 billon tax during the previous financial year but the landlords even did not pay Rs 5 billion tax.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that he is civil engineer by profession and his personal source of livelihood is job in a private company, adding that he is employed with the private company from last 19 years. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that he has a wife and four children including one daughter and three sons, adding that his marriage was completely arranged marriage.
