Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Brazil & wishes to expand cooperation in all fields: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD, July 23 (SABAH): Admiral Andre Luiz Silva Lima De Santana Mendes, Chief of Naval Staff of Brazilian Armed Forces called on Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif at his office in Islamabad.

During the meeting, matters related to regional situation and bilateral cooperation came under discussion.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif expressed that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Brazil and wishes to expand cooperation in all fields. Highlighting Pakistan’s role in the region and its relation with neighboring countries, the Federal Minister dilated on Pakistan’s efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.

Both the leaders exchanged views on enhancing and diversifying defence cooperation for which considerable potential exists between two countries. The two sides also agreed on institutionalization of defence cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding. Moreover, regular exchange of trainees to each other’s training institutions also came under discussion.
