Rulers in Baluchistan are being imposed from somewhere else against wishes of the people of province: Sirajul Haq
DERA ALLAHYAR, Mar 03 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has said the rulers in Baluchistan are being imposed from somewhere else against the wishes of the people of the province.
The province, Sirajul Haq said while addressing a sit-in protest in Dera Allahyar on Thursday, lacking true leadership representation was main reason behind the long deprivations of people. “Stop making Baluchistan the part of Great Game,” he said, adding the enemies of the country were taking benefit of the situation and their eyes were on the rich natural resources of the area.
The PTI, like the previous governments, failed to resolve issues of the province, he said, adding the poverty was rampant in the area and millions of children did not go to schools. Over 60 percent population of the province, he said, lacked medical facilities and majority have no access to clean drinking water.
He said the waderas owned thousands of acres land while poor could not have their own roofs. The unjustified division of resources needed to be ended to uplift people and alleviate poverty, he emphasized. Baluchistan, Sirajul Haq said, needed schools, colleges and hospitals and its youth wanted jobs. Only the JI would address the deprivations of the people and make Pakistan a developed country, he vowed. “I appeal to the people to stand for their rights, reject the status quo parties and vote for the JI.”
Siajul Haq said the masses were already desperate from the ruling elite which was trying hard to befool them again. The ruling parties, he said, were again wanted to come to power after failing to bring any relief to the people. They had started long marches despite being in power and were bringing people into their protests rallies by using state resources, he said, adding the majority of the people of Pakistan were no longer ready to bear them.
The JI, he said, was the only option left with the people as they have tested all the parties over years. He vowed to continue sit-in movement for people rights, demanding 50 percent decrease in prices of food items, petrol and electricity. He also rejected the PECA Ordinance and demanded the government take back the draconian law.
