Privileges for the elite, heavy taxes for the masses in the 2024-25 budget


ISLAMABAD, July 7 (SABAH): In the budget of the financial year 2024-25, the government has given privileges to the elite, while taxes have been increased on the people and the salaried class. There has been no reduction in the lavish expenses of the rulers. According to a private TV channel report, there are 85 gardeners in the garden of the President’s House for which 6 crore rupees have been allocated in the budget.

3.6 crore rupees have been allocated in the budget for the garden of the Prime Minister’s House, which has 60 gardeners. Journalist Owais Yousafzai has expressed his surprise on X for keeping 6 crore rupees in the budget for the garden of the President’s House. It should be remembered that the finance minister had said that as soon as sources of income are created, relief will be provided to the people and the salaried class.

Increase in the budget has been seen in all the important constitutional institutions. They include the President’s House, Prime Minister’s House, Higher Election Commission, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad High Court, National Assembly of Pakistan, Senate of Pakistan, Cabinet, Cabinet Division, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and other constitutional institutions. They also include Board of Investment, Establishment Division, Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission, Federal Public Service Commission, Civil Services Academy, National Security Division, Ministry of Interior, National Counter Terrorism Authority (NECTA), Pakistan Post Office and other institutions of the federal government.
