APHC rally demands release of Kashmiri prisoners present in Indian Jails


MUZAFFARABAD, June 26 (SABAH): A rally was held under the aegis of All Parties Hurriyat Conference against the atrocities on Kashmiri prisoners present in Indian jails and their illegal detentions.

According to details, a large number of people participated in the protest holding banners and placards stated demand for the release of Kashmiri prisoners.

They also held the pictures of Kashmiri political prisoners who have been booked under draconian laws applied only in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They also presented a resolution to United Nations Mission Office on illegal detentions of Kashmiri prisoners who are struggling for the implementation of UNSC resolutions.

Speakers on the occasion said that their struggle will continue until the implementation of UNSC resolutions in Kashmir.

They maintained that India is inflicting the worst war crimes on the Kashmiri people to maintain the military occupation of the occupied state.

“India is targeting the Kashmiri leadership with the worst revenge to suppress the Kashmir freedom movement”, they added.

Speakers said that India tried to break the morale of the Kashmiri people by executing Maqbool Butt and Muhammad Afzal Guru.

They were of the view that Modi government jailed Kashmiri freedom fighters to divert them from their basic stance of right to self-determination.

Speaker AJK Assembly Latif Akbar has said that International human rights organizations should play their role for the release of Kashmiri prisoners.

“There can be no sustainable peace in South Asia until the just solution of the Kashmir issue”, he added.

Rally was led by Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference Ghulam Muhammad Sufi, Raja Khadim Hussain, Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Zahid Sufi, Mushtaq Ahmes Butt, Zahid Ashraf, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Chaudhary Shaheen, Ejaz Rehmani and others.

Protestors demanded the immediate release of Kashmiri leaders Mussarat Alam Butt, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Asia Andrabi, Dr. Abdul Hameed Fayaz, Dr. Muhammad Qasim Faktoo, Naheeda Nasreen, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Fahmida Sufi, Peer Saifullah, Zafar Akbar Butt, Muhammad Yusuf, Amir Hamza, Hayat Dar, Umar Adil Dar and other leaders.
