Opposition parties will be given a full opportunity to discuss Operation Azam-e-Istehkam: Khawaja Asif

LAHORE, June 25 (SABAH): Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif says Operation Azam-e-Istehkam is a continuation of the National Action Plan.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Tuesday, the Defense Minister informed that the National Action Plan was formulated with the consensus of all political parties.

He said that the opposition parties will be given a full opportunity to discuss Operation Azam-e-Istehkam. Defence Minister said that this is a matter of national security and the media should play its role in this regard. He said that Operation Azam-e-Istehkam will be implemented in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that the purpose of Operation Azam-e-Istehkam is to restore government implementation in certain areas.

He stressed that consensus among all institutions and political forces is essential for the success of the operations.
