DFP terms Indian FO spokesman’s statement on Kashmir as an attempt to mislead world community & distort historical facts on Kashmir

SRINAGAR, June 20 (SABAH): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has strongly condemned the Indian the Indian External Affairs Ministry Spokesman Randhir Jaiswal’s statement on Kashmir and termed it as an attempt to mislead world community and distort historical facts on Kashmir.

The DFP Spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal said that pertinently, the Indian FO spokesman’s assertions were against the spirit of the United Nations resolutions that besides acknowledging the disputed status of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir call for holding a referendum in the region to allow it’s people to determine their political future through the democratic method of a free and impartial plebiscite.

He said that it was quite unfortunate that India was remorselessly misleading international community by peddelling lies and distorting historical facts.

“Kashmir is an internationally-recognised disputed territory”, Arshad Iqbal said, adding that dispute has been on the agenda of the UN Security Council for over seven decades.  He said that the Indian claims over Jammu and Kashmir were totally unfounded and misplaced.

Meanwhile, the DFP spokesman condemned the continued bloodshed and violence in Kashmir. Referring to the killing of Kashmiri youth in Barramulla, Kathua and Doda area, he said that the Indian troops were killing innocent Kashmiri youth in fake encounters.
