Alkhidmat Foundation inaugurates water filtration plant to supply clean drinking water on GT Road at a cost of Rs 2 miln


PESHAWAR, June 13 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan inaugurated a water filtration plant to supply clean drinking water on GT Road at a cost of Rs 2 million.

Alkhidmat Water Filtration Plant located at the junction of Chamkani and Sardargarhi BRT stations was inaugurated by provincial Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan. 1000 liters of clean water per hour will be available to the citizens from RO filtration plant built according to WHO standard.

Alkhidmat Foundation has inaugurated the 10th RO water filtration plant of the province to supply clean drinking water to the people on GT Road, which is located at the junction of Chamkani and Sardar Garhi BRT stations, which will serve educational institutions, markets, workshops in the area. And the residents of the area will get rid of polluted water and the public will have access to clean drinking water according to WHO standards. Alkhidmat RO Water Filtration Plant Sardargarhi was inaugurated by Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan along with Provincial President of Alkhidmat Foundation Khalid Waqas.

On this occasion, Jamaat-e-Islami Provincial General Secretary Abdul Wasia, District General Secretary Hidayatullah Khan, Alkhidmat Foundation Peshawar District President Arbab Abdul Haseeb and Provincial Regional Manager of Alkhidmat Foundation Dr. Shakeel Ahmed were also present. Office-bearers of Jamaat-e-Islami and Alkhidmat Foundation on the occasion said that at present, more than 80% of the population in Pakistan is facing non-availability of clean drinking water, due to which every fifth person in Pakistan falls ill due to the consumption of contaminated water.

The biggest problem faced by people affected by floods and other natural disasters is the lack of clean drinking water. Millions of children in Pakistan die every year from stomach diseases due to the use of contaminated and unhealthy water. At present, 10 RO plants are active under the Alkhidmat Foundation across the province, while two more will be inaugurated soon. 853 small and big projects have been completed, from which more than 111,000 people are benefiting on a daily basis.
