A new era has begun in Pakistan-China relationship: Attaullah Tarar
ISLAMABAD, June 09 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has termed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s China visit as historic and highly successful saying it will have positive impact on the country’s economy.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Monday, Attaullah Tarar said that the meeting of PM Shehbaz Sharif with Chinese President Xi Jinping continued for three hours. He said that the Chinese leadership talked about upgrading China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), adding that the matters relating to the CPEC are moving forward with fast pace.
Attaullah Tarar expressed the confidence that there will be progress on the agreements and projects such as ML-1, Karachi Circular Railway, provision of IT training to two hundred thousand Pakistani youth by a Chinese tech company and the second phase of CPEC in the next few weeks. He said the upgraded version of CPEC will be mutually beneficial for the peoples of both the countries.
The Information Minister said a new era has begun in Pakistan-China relationship. He said this everlasting and all weather friendship has stood the test of times. The Information Minister said security of the Chinese nationals is our priority. He said that Pakistan-China business forum was attended by 500 business personalities. He said that China will provide IT training to 200,000 Pakistani youth, adding that in the result of the training of the youth the IT exports will also increase.
Attaullah Tarar said that Pakistan’s IT exports have increased and current account deficit has been decreased. He said that forex reserves have been increased and value of rupee has become stable.
Attaullah Tarar said the economy is heading in the right direction with inflation and current account deficit coming down. He said our foreign exchange reserves are now sufficient for two months of imports. He said that the economic indicators of the country are positive. He said that Pakistan-China friendship is included in our blood.
The Information Minister said the country is also registering successes on the foreign front. Referring to the election of Pakistan on the non-permanent seat of UN Security Council with a big majority, he said this shows the trust of friendly countries on Pakistan.
Attaullah Tarar said that peace and stability is not being digested by internal and external enemies of Pakistan, adding that the heinous designs of the enemies will not be allowed to succeed. He said that the terrorism will be rooted out, adding that the enemies of Pakistan want political instability and promotion of terrorism. He said that a so called leader isolated Pakistan internationally. He said that no one could harm the Pakistan-China relations. He said that today the world is ready to invest and struck trade agreements with Pakistan.
