PM Imran Khan robbed the people so it is time to send govt packing: Bilawal
KARACHI, Feb 27 (SABAH): Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan robbed the people so it is time to send the government packing and now our march is a declaration of war against the incumbent government.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed a huge and charged crowd in Karachi at the start of the Awami Long March against the government. He said that today, the people of Karachi have gathered at the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum to send the selected, illegitimate and incapable home.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raising the slogan of “Go Selected Go” said that Karachi is a city where people come from every province and the economy of the country runs with their sweat and blood. The people have been compelled to send Imran Khan home because this illegitimate, incapable and incompetent selected has robbed the people of Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of their rights. He has robbed you of your votes, pocket and livelihood. This puppet has to go. The entire opposition has decided to send Imran home and the Jiyalas of the PPP are at the forefront of this movement. Now, no power can stop these Jiyalas.
Chairman PPP said that Quaid-e-Azam and Quaid-e-Awam had promised that the country would be a parliamentary democracy but this government has attacked our democracy. It has attacked our economy and human rights. We will complete the mission of Quaid-e-Awam Zulfqiar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and defend the 1973 constitution, the rights of the people and the economy of this country. The PPP is the party which has always defended the rights of the people and increased salaries and pensions. The PPP has given rights to the provinces and made them the owner of their own resources. This puppet Imran Khan wants to do away with the 18th amendment and NFC award. The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah is trying to serve the people of the city of Karachi and this province despite the fact that the puppet government of Imran Khan does not provide the due share from NFC to provinces. This government has made Pakistan one of the most corrupt countries in the world. The Transparency International has declared the PTI government as the most corrupt government in history.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the Awami government will provide resources to the provinces hence all the cities will get their due share. He said it is impossible to achieve anything until this puppet is in government and the PTIMF deal is in place. The time has come to bring the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan and send him home. Now with this march, cries will be heard from Banigala. The PPP will put the demands of the people before the people of every city on the way to Islamabad during this long march. We will attack this government after reaching Islamabad.
Prior to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Mian Raza Rabbani, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Nisar Ahmed Khoro and Chaudhry Qamar Zaman Kaira also addressed the people.
Earlier, Bilawal thanked the people of Karachi for gathering in huge numbers to “wage war” against the incumbent government on the party’s call.
He went on to say that the three years of the incumbent government in power forced Karachi’s people to protest. “The ineligible and incompetent prime minister has plundered the rights of Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Bilawal said. Once again calling Prime Minister Imran Khan “selected”, the PPP leader accused the premier of violating people’s right to vote. “It has been three years. The selected must leave now,” he said.
He said that the PPP is going to send the “selected government” packing with the help of people’s power. Bilawal Bhutto further stated that the party has taken to the streets for the rights of Pakistanis and urged more people to join the long march in Islamabad and help them send the “puppet government” home. The PPP chairman said that whenever the people have got their rights, it was under the PPP’s rule. He said that the PPP has given the provinces their rights in the form of the 18th amendment.
After Bilawal concluded his brief address, the participants and the leaders gathered at Numaish Chowrangi commenced the long march as a convoy. The long march — led by the PPP chairman — is starting from Karachi and it will reach the capital in 10 days passing through 34 different cities. The protesters will resume their journey on today (Monday) passing through Hyderabad, Hala and Nawabshah and end its second day at Moro.
Marchers will reach Khairpur city on March 1 and end their third day in Sukkur. The long march will then continue from Sukkur on March 2 from where the protesters will reach Rahim Yar Khan. On March 3, the PPP convoy from Rahim Yar Khan, passing through Bahawalpur and Lodhran will end its fifth day with a large public gathering in Multan.
meanwhile Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that it is time for Imran Khan to resign otherwise he would have to when we reach Islamabad.
Chairman PPP said this while addressing a mammoth crowd at Sajawal that welcomed the Awami long march. He said that this reception will be remembered in history of Sajawal. We have defeated General Zia and General Musharraf and now will defeat this puppet, selected, incompetent and illegitimate Imran Khan. Imran Khan made false promises and turned Pakistan in ruins in the name of change. The people of Karachi, Thatha and now Sajawal have spoken and their demand is “GO SELECTED GO”. Quaid-e-Awam had said that it is not our fate to remain poor. Enough is enough and now we will not tolerate this puppet and selected Imran Khan.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the PPP always provides job to the people. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had said that if providing job is a crime, then she would continue to commit this crime. Quaid-e-Awam and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir had the dream of a prosperous Pakistan and we will fulfill that dream.
