Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Sirajul Haq, Hamas welcome the ruling of ICJ ordering Israel to stop the operation at Rafah
LAHORE/GAZA, May 24 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, former emir JI Pakistan Sirajul Haq and Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas have welcomed the ruling of International Court of Justice ordering Israel to stop the operation at Rafah.
According to a statement issued from Mansoorah on Friday, Emir JI Hafiz Naeemur Rehman raised the question who will ensure implementation of the ICJ ruling from the illegal state? He said the question could also be asked from the Muslim countries that why they did not knocked the door of the ICJ.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that Israel has martyred over 36,000 Palestinians in Gaza, adding that the majority of the martyred Palestinians include women and children. He said that the worst atrocities of the recent past history were repeated in Gaza, adding that the whole city is present the scene of the graveyard and hundreds and thousands of people have become homeless.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the people were buried alive under the debris, adding that the mass graves are being recovered, adding that Israeli forces mercilessly bombarded the schools, hospitals and mosques. He said that restriction was imposed on the humanitarian assistance but the United Nations and international powers could not take any clear action on the genocide of the Palestinians. He said that the Islamic countries failed to represent the sentiments of the Muslim Ummah, adding that Pakistani rulers are also limited to issuing verbal statements.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman hailed the action of South Africa to approach the International Court of Justice, adding that the rulers of the Islamic countries while expressing self respect and dignity should issue clear message for Israel. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that 231 days of Israeli suppression and tyranny have passed, adding that he presents tribute to bravery and vigour of Hamas Chief, Mujahideen and Palestinians.
Former Emir JI Pakistan Sirajul Haq has also welcomed the verdict of International Court of Justice ordering Israel to stop the operation at Rafah.
Meanwhile the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has welcomed the ruling by the United Nation’s International Court of Justice but said it was insufficient.
“In the time we welcome the decision by the World Court that calls on the Zionist occupation forces to end its military aggression on Rafah, we believe it is not enough since the occupation aggression across the Gaza Strip and especially in northern Gaza is just as brutal and dangerous,” senior Hamas official Basem Naim told a foreign news agency.
“We call upon the UN Security Council to immediately implement this demand by the World Court into practical measures to compel the Zionist enemy to implement the decision.”
“We welcome the court’s request to allow investigation committees to reach the Gaza Strip to investigate acts of war of genocide against the Palestinian people and Hamas pledges to cooperate with investigation committees,” said Naim.
The Palestinian Authority welcomed the ruling by the UN’s International Court of Justice. “The presidency welcomes the decision issued by the International Court of Justice, which represents an international consensus on the demand to stop the all-out war on Gaza,” Palestinian presidential spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said.
Meanwhile the Palestinian Ambassador to the UN on Friday hailed the International Court of Justice’s order for Israel to halt military operations in Rafah, and called for Israel to abide by the ruling immediately.
“We welcome these provisional measures including stopping the military operation in Rafah,” Riyad Mansour told reporters at UN headquarters in New York. “We expect that resolutions of the ICJ be implemented without hesitation. That’s mandatory. And Israel is party to the convention.”
Meanwhile South Africa’s international relations department on Friday hailed as ground-breaking a ruling by the International Court of Justice that ordered Israel to halt its military assault on the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
Judges at the World Court earlier on Friday backed a South African request to order Israel to halt its offensive in Rafah, a week after Pretoria called for the measure in a case accusing Israel of genocide.
Meanwhile Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said in a post on X that with its ruling the ICJ has exposed Israel’s war crimes in Gaza.
Safadi added that the UN Security Council “must shoulder its responsibility, put an end to Israel’s impunity and to double standards in enforcing [international] law.”
