Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai was an icon who laid his life for the sacred Kashmir cause:  Ghulam Muhammad Safi

ISLAMABAD, May 05 (SABAH): Senior leader All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Ghulam Muhammad Safi has said that Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai was an icon of ongoing liberation movement in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir  (IIOJK) and laid his life for the sacred Kashmir cause.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi who is currently in Africa in connection with OIC summit has said that “Sehrai’s custodial killing demonstrates that Indian occupation regime is adamant to use all available tools to subjugate the people of IIOJK into submission. But the sacrifice of Sehrai testifies that no matter what, India can never break the will of the Kashmiri”.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi reiterated that Mohammad Ashraf Sehari was loyal aide of IIOJK’s great freedom fighter, Syed Ali Shah Geelani. His custodial death followed martyrdom of his son Junaid Sehrai in May 2019, who laid his life fighting for freedom are irreparable loss to this ongoing struggle.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi further said, Sehrai the man of virtues and principles never compromised for personal gains. Among the top brass of Jammat-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai was the soul of Teh, despite Syed Ali Geelani being the title of the organization.

Sehari the brave soul, breathed his last in custody of brutal Indian forces and never urged for any relief.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi said such personalities never die, he is and shall remain alive in hearts and minds of Kashmiri nation.
