President Alvi says BRT Green Line Bus project had been launched to facilitate the people of Karachi  


KARACHI, Feb 21 (SABAH):  President Dr. Arif Alvi on Monday traveled by the Green Line Bus with passengers from Numaish Chowrangi to Guru Mandir areas of the city and showed his satisfaction over the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service.

Talking to official media during his first-ever travel on the Green line bus, the President Dr. Arif Alvi said that the BRT Green Line Bus project had been launched to facilitate the people of Karachi.

Alvi said that the service would provide comfortable journey to the people. He said, ‘I am pleased, and I was trying to ride on the green line bus.’

He said that they were used to spending long hours while traveling in the past but now owing to the BRT systems, the distance was reducing to minutes. He further said that the world was turning to BRT system.

The President on the occasion also asked views about the BRT Green Line Bus project from female passengers. Replying to the President, the passengers said that they were satisfied with the service as they had comfortable ride on it. They told the President that they were commuters and had got BRT green line transportation cards. The female passengers thanked the President for the service.

Earlier, soon after arriving in bus station at Numaish, Dr. Arif Alvi purchased his ticket for traveling on green line bus.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Syed Ali Haider Zaidi and PTI MPAs from Sindh accompanied the President.
