Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid A Al-Falih meets with PM Shehbaz on the sidelines of the special session of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh
RIYADH, April 28 (SABAH): Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid A Al-Falih has said that Pakistan is Saudi Arabia’s priority for investment and cooperation in the agriculture, Information Technology and energy sectors will continue.
This was stated by Saudi Minister for Investment Khalid A Al-Falih, while talking to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who held separate meetings with various Saudi Ministers, including Finance Minister Mohammed al-Jadaan, and Minister for Industry Bandar al-Khorayef, on the sidelines of the special session of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh on Sunday.
The Saudi Minister for Investment termed Shehbaz Sharif as “the Prime Minister of Action.” He said we all are aware of your performance and fast pace of working. He said Saudi Arabia fully owns and supports Shehbaz Sharif’s mission of Pakistan’s development. He said a delegation of Saudi investors will soon visit Pakistan. He also acknowledged the role of Pakistani diaspora in the development of various sectors of the Kingdom.
In another meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed al-Jadaan, both the leaders agreed that Saudi Arabia will further look for investment opportunities in Pakistan.
The Saudi Finance Minister reiterated his country’s support for the economic development of Pakistan. He termed Pakistan’s development as the progress of Saudi Arabia. He said the Kingdom, under its vision 2030, took tough decisions and went for reforms at the governmental level.
In a separate meeting with the Prime Minister, Saudi Minister for Industry expressed his keen interest for cooperation with Pakistan in agriculture, minerals, IT and other sectors. He also apprised the Prime Minister of the progress in this regard.
The Saudi Minister for Industry informed that he is in contact with Saudi Arabia’s private companies regarding the investment in Pakistan and soon these companies will tour Pakistan.
He said joint ventures between the private sectors of the two countries are our priority.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Slaman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud and other Ministers of the kingdom for supporting Pakistan in every thick and thin.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said that during his last stint as Prime Minister, Pakistan’s economic condition improves with the help and cooperation of Saudi Arabia. He said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are strategic partners of each other.
