United States ready to impose sanctions if Beijing continues to supply dual-use technologies to Russia: Financial Times, Bloomberg

WASHINGTON, April 21 (SABAH) The United States is ready to impose sanctions if Beijing continues to supply dual-use technologies to Russia – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is going to personally warn Chinese officials about this, the Financial Times and Bloomberg write.

Antony Blinken’s visit to China will take place April 24-26. According to media reports, the secretary of state will have to convey that the United States and its allies are becoming increasingly intolerant of Beijing’s support for the Russian military machine, which supplies Russia with everything from chips to engines for cruise missiles. Antony Blinken does not plan to disclose what measures the United States will take, writes FT.

However, according to the publication’s sources, Washington is considering the possibility of introducing sanctions against Chinese financial institutions and other organizations.

One FT source said Blinken’s message would be “the clearest warning the US has ever conveyed personally to Chinese officials.”
