Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan organizes grand iftar dinner for 2,000 orphan children, widows & elderly people
RAWALPINDI, March 31 (SABAH): Under Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan’s Kafaalat-e-Yatama program, eid gifts were distributed among 2,000 orphan children and widows and grand iftar was organized for people living in old age homes.
For the children who participated in the ceremony, jumping cassel, face painting, magic show and Mehndi stall was organized for the girls while afterwards eid money, cloth and other gifts were distributed among children, their mothers and old aged people.
In the ceremony, President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, Vice President Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, regional president Ikramul Haq Subhani, representatives of youth societies, orphans, their mothers, old citizens and large number of people from different walks of life participated. Senior manager media relations Shoaib Hashmi performed duty as host.
Addressing on the occasion, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that Alkhidmat Foundation is spending 2.5 billion rupees on sponsorship of 30,000 orphan children, adding orphan mothers and old citizens are provided relief through different projects. The motif of such ceremonies is to ensure presence of orphans in the pleasures of eid while ending their sense of inferiority complex, he added.
He said during the month of Ramadan, different iftar program are held at district, regional and central level. He said these courageous orphans are also provided opportunity for eid shopping so that they don’t feel more the absence of their parents. The orphan children and homeless citizens should be given attention in the society, he said, the volunteers of Alkhidmat’s services towards them are appreciable. He said we should individually as well as collectively need to take steps for this suppressed segments of the society.
At this time, 22 lac individuals of Gaza are on the brink of destruction, he said and added Alkhidmat Foundation has shifted luggage for Gaza worth more than one billion and 70 crore rupees whereas this activity is still underway.
Dr. Mushtaq Mangat said that orphan children have right to be included in the pleasures of eid. He said Alkhidmat Foundation along with students of colleges and universities organize iftar and give orphan and orphan mother eid gifts every year.
