Sirajul Haq advocates for a dialogue among political stakeholders to tackle the poison of polarization pervading society

LAHORE  (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has advocated for a dialogue among political stakeholders to tackle the poison of polarization pervading society. Speaking to reporters at Mansoorah on Thursday, he emphasized that the contentious and tainted elections had exacerbated polarization, asserting that resolution could only come through ensuring people’s rights.

Expressing concern that the electoral mandate had been usurped, he stressed that JI too was adversely affected and vowed to exhaust all avenues, including recourse to the Supreme Court, to reclaim their rights. Sirajul Haq underscored the government’s pivotal role in addressing polarization, urging it to engage with political parties promptly.

Highlighting the imperative for the ruling parties to fulfill their manifesto commitments, he urged prioritization of providing free electricity up to 300 units to consumers, reaffirming JI’s unwavering commitment to advocating for people’s rights.

Addressing economic concerns, Sirajul Haq cautioned against further burdens on the populace, anticipating intensified conditions from international financial bodies like the IMF, which could exacerbate inflation and taxation woes. He criticized the appointment of the finance minister under IMF influence, citing past failures in economic recovery attempts reliant on IMF loans. Sirajul Haq advocated for tackling corruption and non-development expenditures to fortify the economy, calling for an end to protocol culture.

Furthermore, he called for an end to the conflict in Gaza, urging Islamic world leaders to intervene, while highlighting JI’s charitable efforts through the al-Khidmat Foundation in providing aid to Palestinians.
