Ataullah Tarar says PTI tried to derail democracy by making elections disputed
LAHORE, Feb 16 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ataullah Tarar Advocate said on Friday the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) tried to derail democracy by making elections disputed. Ataullah Tarar said the PTI spent Rs100 billion on ‘digital terrorism’ for this purpose.
Addressing a press conference along with Tarar, former minister for information and broadcasting and PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said the PTI leaders were going to misguide the international media by telling lies after some time. She said the PTI concocted a false narrative. “They tried to harm us at the maximum, and proofs of that are available with us,” she claimed.
She said her party had submitted attested material in the Election Commission office.
Ataullah Tarar told media that hundreds of bogus form 45 were uploaded on social media by the PTI. “A presiding officer goes to the office of returning officer in security given to him and submits form 45,” said Tarar.
He added that the PTI prepared forms 45 in haste. He said only 5-10 percent initial results were uploaded on social media.
The PML-N leader said the PTI was celebrating its victory in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and crying foul over rigging in Punjab elections. If elections were rigged, how could Rana Sanaullah and Saad Rafique lose elections?, he posed a question.
Tarar said he was not contesting elections for the first time. He said his polling agents remained present at polling stations from dawn till night.
Tarar said the PTI men were busy in preparing bogus and false form 45 because they had lost elections. They started celebrating their victory over bogus form 45. If PML-N had to rig the elections, I would be done in all constituencies.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said there should be forensic test of the bogus and genuine forms 45. She said PTI people were in habit of committing organized crime. They then build narratives over the committed crime.
She said PTI had nothing to show as proof in their favour. If they had any proof to support their narrative, they would not be addressing a press conference in Islamabad’s Marriot Hotel.
She said she knew the PTI’s alliance with JUI-F had short life. Marriyum said Maulana’s party was submitting their objections in the ECP commission.
Marriyum Aurangzeb slammed PTI for earlier blaming the United States for conspiring against the party and now reaching out to them for help.
She thrashed the PTI for later asking Washington to speak on the issues in the recently held elections. “According to you, the United States had conspired and overthrown your government,” she said, addressing PTI. The PML-N politician said the Imran Khan-founded party wants to spread anarchy in the country.
The former minister, when commenting on allegations of “rigging” by the PTI, said the winners are blaming the losers for rigging. She also told the party to approach legal forums to have their complaints addressed.
“If you have an objection to the election, take it to the Election Commission. After that, go to the high court and Supreme Court, we also went [there],” she said.
